Fort Hood Silver Chapter President Notes

Fellow Warrants & Friends

The 2009 Year is coming to a close as I reach my 7th month as your Honored President of the USAWOA Fort Hood "Silver" Chapter.

We have reached many great milestones & accomplishments, a few mentioned are:

Conducted the FIRST (Annual) FHSC Warrant Officer Social Event, Dedicated a Warrant officer Memorial at the Veterans Cemetery, Hosted the 2009 Mid Southern Region Warrant Officer WorkShop (over 250 attended), Awarded the FHSC Scholarship, Was recognized by the Mayor of Killen and given a Proclamation of recognition as 21 August as "Warrant Officer Day", Was awarded during the 37th Annual Meeting of the Members (Salt Lake City, Utah) as part of the "Overall Best Region for Recruitment & Retention", Hosted a Family Day BBQ at the Disabled Veterans Hospital, Hosted a BINGO day at the Indian Oaks Retirement Home and provide monthly support, Established an outstanding Mentorship and Quarterly Warrant Officer Professional Development program, Created an Interactive INFORMATION PORTAL on the website, Conducted nearly 20 years of continuous community service without missing an annual quarter of supporting the "Don't Mess With Texas" campaign, Donated & Raised $1000 to give to the local food banks.

Many of these efforts could not have be accomplished without the dedication from the FHSC Warrant Officer supporting cast, to include CW0(R) Wayne Hamilton, CWO(R) Herb Gately, WO1 Victor Gwynn, CW2 Rich Gooding, WO1 Jeff Johnson, CW2 Cleonora Walker, CW4 Jesse McCoy, all of the committee chairpersons, distinguished executive staff and generous community members.

I believe in the "Warrant Officer" and will continue to strive for humble dedication. I welcome all feedback and look forward to sharing 2010 with you.

Thank you!!!!

CW4 Nicole E. Woodyard
